Solar Sistem Model

The Montessori Solar System Model is a science and geography teaching aid designed to help children understand the structure of our universe through sensory exploration.

Unlike purely decorative models, the Montessori model emphasizes direct manipulation and the logical order of celestial bodies.

The Incastru Puzzle (2D/3D) is a wooden board with slots for the Sun and the 8 planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune). The child learns their names and order in relation to the Sun.

What does the child learn?

Order and Positioning: Recognizing the sequence of planets starting from the Sun.

Relative Size: Although they may not always be to exact scale, the models respect visual proportions (e.g. Jupiter is visibly larger than the Earth).

Astronomical Concepts: Terms such as orbit, rotation, revolution or the asteroid belt.
Cosmic Education: Understanding our place in the Universe, a central pillar in the Montessori philosophy for children over 6 years old.
