Thermic Bottles

In Montessori pedagogy, thermal bottles (or Thermal Bottles) are a distinct sensory material, consisting of a set of 8 metal containers (usually stainless steel) placed in a wooden stand.
Here's how they work:
Preparation: The 8 bottles are divided into 4 pairs. Each pair is filled with water at a different temperature:
Ice water (very cold).
Cold tap water.
Warm water.
Hot water (but safe for the child to touch).
Purpose of the activity: The child must remove the bottles from the stand and, by touching them with his hand, find the two containers that have the same temperature.
Error control: Most of the time, the control is purely sensory (the sensation of hot/cold), but some sets have discreet markings on the bottom of the bottle for verification.
Difference from tablets:
Thermal tablets (wood, metal, stone) explore how different materials conduct heat.
Thermal bottles explore temperature variations of the same substance (water).
This exercise prepares the child to observe thermal changes in the environment and refines their skin's receptivity.
